You Might Have Lots of Questions….
Does Acupuncture Really Help?
With three thousand years of empirical use, the benefits of acupuncture have been shown through research into many conditions:
Women's health: painful or irregular periods, endometriosis, infertility, IVF support, peri-menopause.
Pregnancy: back and pelvic pain, labour pain, breech baby, pre-conception care.
Musculoskeletal: acute and chronic pain.
Respiratory: asthma, allergic rhinitis.
Gastrointestinal: obesity, constipation, irritable bowel syndrome.
Neurological: stroke, headaches, migraine.
Mental health: anxiety, depression, insomnia, stress.
At Bloom Acupuncture, we have a passion for treating women's health, such as fertility and pregnancy, as well as helping aches and pains through ACC acupuncture treatments.
A personalised treatment plan will be discussed with you. Many people report experiencing pain relief, reduced stress, improved sleep, and enhanced overall well-being after acupuncture.
The beauty of traditional Chinese medicine is that it looks at every person as an individual and seeks to find and treat the unwanted symptoms, as well as the underlying cause.
What Should I Expect in an Acupuncture Session?
Your practitioner will conduct an in-depth health assessment from a western medical and traditional Chinese medicine perspective. You’ll be asked questions about your physical, mental and emotional health, as well as your lifestyle habits. Any necessary tests, such as range of movement tests, may be conducted.
Once all the necessary information has been gathered, your practitioner will explain the treatment plan they’d like to go forward with. You’ll receive a 20-to-30-minute treatment. This may include acupuncture, cupping, massage and/or Chinese herbs, as will be discussed with you.
It is a very relaxing process, and often patients fall asleep on the table.
And What is Acupuncture Anyway?
Acupuncture is an ancient traditional Chinese medicine practice that involves inserting thin, single-use needles into specific points on the body to stimulate energy flow or “Qi”. Research has shown that acupuncture influences the nervous system, improves blood flow to various body tissues, promotes the release of natural painkillers (endorphins), and regulates various physiological processes. It is a safe, effective and natural (drug-free) practice.
The goal is to restore your balance and health as much as possible.
